I cannot help but appreciate the manufacturers who made it possible for my grandma to have a customized bathtub. Being old and frail and yet still full of life, we simply cannot have any home activity that would cause her any harm. And that’s why even her bathroom has been specifically designed for her to use, for her private nurse to have an easier way of guiding her and giving her the bath she needs. Replacing the old tub that would require her to sit very low and make standing up a risky one, she now sits comfortably in her new tub. She can even enjoy a therapeutic bath with the aid of her nurse.

One time, during my day-off, I asked the nurse to teach me how she goes about giving my grandma a bath. I did it for two reasons: one, I love my grandma and I want to make her happy and two, as a nursing student, I’d get to have hands-on experience that will be very helpful in the future. That was when I saw the safe bathing benefit of her new tub. All hospitals should have one for elderly patients.
