Helping My Mother Sell Scrap Jewelry
My mother told me and my husband that since she heard that gold is worth a lot of money right now, that she was thinking of selling my father’s old gold coin collections and selling jewelry that her mother had left her many years ago. She wanted out help with selling jewelry to the local stores and then with the collections too.
I found several online places that would allow you to sell scrap jewelry but not coin collections. I made some phone calls to old collector friends of my fathers and they all pointed me in the same direction. There was a shop about sixty miles from my mother’s house, that buys gold coin collections and some of them they scrap out and some they resell on auction sites or coin shows.
It was nice to see my mother de cluttering her life and not hanging on to things that only make her sad. My father loved his coins, but he would never have thought my mother would keep them for all these years. I am glad to have found the way to sell scrap jewelry and coins for my mother. I hope that she goes through with everything that she says that she is going to do.
