Rapid Prototyping - Preface
Rapid prototyping is the name of an advanced technology that is being used to construct physical objects with the help of computer aided designs data source. The methods of building physical parts are unique in which material is used in layers to form a specific object. Rapid Prototyping is also known as three dimensional printing, additive fabrication, layered manufacturing and solid freedom fabrication.
The process of rapid prototyping has triumph over the classical subtractive fabrication techniques such as milling and turning as some artists are using the technology to create multipart figures of fine arts presentations. By the help of world’s fastest rapid prototyping system, it has become very easy to create an object in few hours. However, it depends on the type of machine being used and size of object that is being shaped at the same time.
A wide range of contending technologies are available in the market with some difference of layers addition to form parts. Some technologies are available with softening material to create the layers while other technologies are with liquid material. No doubt, Computer is key part to automatically create products and objects. The keys to these productions are raw materials and data.
The procedure of rapid prototyping is beneficial for engineers and product designers to create three dimensional models promptly. Rapid prototyping allocates more elasticity than machining because the composite model drawings do not experience any restraints during its fabrication. This technique has ability to create any shape or models in short period of time without difficulty.
